The orca canoe building workshop is located at Pooley Bridge. So look for accommodation in and around this area.

Below are a few options to get you started including camping, yurts and a barn to stay in at our workshop. If you need any more help just give us a ring.

You are welcome to stay in a yurt or camp at Great Stickland, its about a 20mi drive to Pooley Bridge.

CAMPING YURTS AND BARN (Gt Strickland Courses)

Camping info for Gt Strickland only.

We can offer you camping and yurts along with a Converted barn at Greatstickland. About 20min drive to our workshop.

NOTE: we dont run the camping. If you would like to camp there is an option when booking to let us know. You will be sent arrival info once you have booked a workshop. We will let the camping site know you are coming and you just need to turn up.

Camping is a no frills kind of affair in a small woodland same as Yurts, there is a basic hot shower and flushing toilet. The woodland can get muddy after a lot of rain!! price is £5per person per night £2 under 18s and £1 for a dog.  This is all arranged with the farm owners and can be paid in cash to them.

Camping space is limited so please check with us before you commit, as busy builds fill up fast so its a first to book first to get a camping spot.

There is also the option to stay in your camper van at the workshop, however the is no electric hook up. We dont really have room for large motor homes due to the size of our car park.

You are welcome to arrive the night before. Please let us know what you wish to do when you book and all info will be dispensed.

Most campsites are around Ullswater and Pooley Bridge.

Park Foot Campsite is the closest campsite to our workshop only a 300mt walk.

Water Foot Park is the next campsite along from Parkfoot but is still within walking distance to the workshop.

The Quiet Site is near Ullswater and was holiday park of the year 2013 for Cumbria, it offers camping, camping pods, cottages, great views of the lake and more. You will need to drive if staying here.

Waterside Farm Campsite is a bit further down Ullswater from Park Foot and is right on the lakeshore, good place to try out the canoe.

There is a converted barn at Great Strickland that you can stay in at the workshop, Please call us for details.

If you are looking for a cottage or B&B go to www.cumbrian-cottages.co.uk and look for cottages in the North Lakes / Penrith area.

If you fancy staying somewhere further afield it is quite possible to stay in the Keswick area, where you have even more options. Staying in Keswick will take you about 20 mins drive to get to us.

Drop us a line if you need anymore help/advice,
